The building is hired whole, and the Koraimon Gate - normally closed - is opened for banquet guests to arrive close to the entrance. Advance arrangement required.
About the venue
Osaka Geihinkan is a former state guest house, built in 1995 to receive world leaders at APEC and modelled on the Shiroshoin of Nijo Castle in Kyoto. In 2019 it hosted the banquet for the G20 Osaka Summit. It is not a hotel ballroom dressed as something grander - it is the building Japan uses when it wants to impress heads of state.
It stands inside Nishinomaru Garden, on the grounds of Osaka Castle, which means the castle keep is your view rather than a stop on the photography route. The whole building is taken exclusively for one event, so your guests are the only people on site.
